70,000 schools in 116 countries have got
behind The World's Children's Prize
The World’s Children’s Prize program is the world’s largest annual rights and democracy education initiative for children, educating and empowering children as changemakers. Millions of children experience other children’s lives, and the lives of Child Rights Heroes through their stories. Once they are empowered as changemakers they make their voices heard and stand up for human fellowship, the equal value of all people, the rights of the child, democracy and sustainable development, now and in the future.
The majority of the children in the WCP program live in fragile, conflict-ridden states. Children exploited as soldiers, slaves or in the child sex trade discover for the first time that they have rights and are able to make their voices heard.
Rachel Lloyd, champion for trafficked girls has been elected Child Rights Hero by millions of young people. Gabriel Mejía Montoya from Colombia and Valeriu Nicolae from Romania got the World’s Children’s Honorary Awards.
No Litter Generation inspires children around the world pick litter together and raise their voices for a cleaner, healthier environment. The point is not to clean up, but to learn and share knowledge about the environment and the UN Global Goals for Sustainable Development.
Do you want to become a Changemaker and make the world a better place? Participate in the World’s Children’s Prize Program. Next program cycle starts November 1 and goes on until May 2019. The results of the Global Vote must be reported latest April 16, 2019.
