The Dunga Mothers fight for the rights of children with HIV/Aids and supports children who have lost their parents to AIDS in villages in the Kisumu area in Kenya .

Without help from the mothers, these children could otherwise end up living on the streets facing a life marred by drugs, violence, crime and commercial sexual exploitation. Despite the fact that most of the mothers are themselves very poor, they provide 70 orphaned children with food, clothes, medicine, schooling, a home, new families and love.
Formerly known as The Mothers of St. Rita, the Dunga mothers received the World’s Children’s Prize in 2005.
