Jury member Netta
Netta, Israel

Netta represents children in conflict areas and children who want to have a dialogue for peace.

“When I was small I remember there was a war. My parents got really worried so they sent me and my sister to live with our aunts. I didn’t get to see my parents for a long time.

It was frightening, I didn’t know what was going on, so I was worried and very scared. I didn’t understand much of what was going on but I was thinking: I don’t want to die, I don’t want to leave my home!”

Netta thinks that dialogue – talking to one another – is the best way to achieve peace.

“It’s important to talk to each other, because there is no other way. And it is important that we children know our rights, so that no one can take them away from us.”
